Name:
Frank Coffey
2. Job Title: Instructional Coach 3. The subject you taught before becoming an Instructional Coach: Language Arts 4. Besides the subject in #2, what was your favorite subject when you were in school: Math 5. If time and money were no issue, which country would like to visit: Australia Favorite quote: “They won’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – John Maxwell 6. Who/What inspired you to become a teacher? I have always loved being in school. And, I knew, starting with my sophomore year in high school, that I wanted to be a teacher. In high school, I had several inspirations, such as Ms. Susan Roberts, for her creativity in teaching methods, Mr. Dwight Hoskins for making learning fun, and Ms. Beth Brewerton for teaching us the difference between right and wrong when it came to our work. I can only hope that in my teaching experience I have been able to combine those three teaching qualities into my classroom. 7. The thing I like most about being an Instructional Coach is…being able to help everyone, students and teachers, whenever they need me. If I had not gotten into the education profession, I probably would have enjoyed a career in … radio broadcasting. I love music, talking about music, and entertaining people, so being a disc jockey would have been right up my alley. The things Southern does to make the learning experience unique for the students are …we engage them in the learning and make the lessons interactive on a daily basis |
