Lightning Strike 5K:
It was a great day for our annual 5K. Thanks to all those who participated- it was a great success.

Camp REAL:
Do you need a fun & safe place for your middle school age student to be during the summer? Consider registering for Camp REAL (Recreation Enrichment And Learning). It is sponsored by FPCS & Parks & Recreation.

Southern Films Win Awards:
Southern Films did well at the STLP STEM Fair. They earned 1st place for PSA and Showcase. This was the first time Southern Films entered the Showcase. Congratulations- Danica Moon, Nick Deas, Kylee Griffin, Kevin Roe, & Noah Lane!
SMS SLTP also won 2nd place for non-PSA video, PSA video, and original photo.
Next stop is the State competition in April and then a showing of our films at the Kentucky Theater in May. The results and videos can be seen here: http://www.stlp.fcps.net/news2013/2014-stem-fair-winners

Tutoring Help Offered:
7th & 8th grade
tutoring is available from 4:00-5:00 on Wednesdays with Mrs. Cook and Mr. Hendrix. Students should report to Room 505.
6th grade tutoring is on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4:00-5:00. Students should report to Mr. Blevins, Room 205 or Mrs. Lopez, Room 202. Students need to be picked up at 5:00

Kroger Cards: Send $5.00 (cash or check) with the completed request form (below) in an envelope labeled “SMS PTSA Kroger Card” to the school. The PTSA will forward to you (via your student) a Kroger gift card loaded with your $5.00. Please be sure to include the student’s name and team name on the request form. You may also mail your request to the SMS PTSA post office box (P.O. Box 24497, Lexington, KY 40524-4497).
